The influence of the regional trade agreements on the multilateral trading system
Abstract
The current trends in the development of regionalism in the form of regional trade agreements and their impact on the multilateral trading system, as well as on international trade as a whole and trade and economic interests of countries that are not directly parties to such agreements are considered. Particular attention is paid to the problem of developing of new rules for regulating international trade and the correlation of trade regulation at the regional and multilateral levels. The article describes the prerequisites for the hybridization of the multilateral trading system created inside regional trade agreements, as well as the impact of the latter on the mechanisms of settlement of trade disputes. At the same time, the importance of transparency in the process of formation of new regional trade blocs was stressed.
