Abstract

Government incentives within the four largest renewable electricity markets — China, India, the United States and European Union Member States as well as main rules and approach within the framework of the WTO Agreement are analyzed. The emerged tension between environmental goals and WTO Agreement are also described. The author argues that a renewable energy agreement should be negotiated, which allows a policy space for countries to promote a growing
alternative source of electricity production for domestic business.
