Application of Non-tariff Measures in the Eurasian Economic Union
Abstract
The topic of international trade, trade wars, sanctions and trade barriers become more and more widespread all over the world. Besides trade barriers represented by tariffs, there exist non-tariff obstacles within the trade in the region. One of such obstacles could be non-tariff measures (NTM).
The topic of NTMs is quite new especially for the Eurasian Economic Union and its members. As the main purpose of the Union is to provide for free movement of goods, services, capital and labor, pursues coordinated, harmonized and single policy in the sectors determined by the Treaty and international agreements within the Union, all barriers and obstacles, non-tariff measures should be eliminated in respect to each other. The purpose of this work is to figure out what non-tariff measures are, whether the EAEU member-states impose them, and if yes, then in respect to which states.
