Trade disputes which influenced retreuted tyres industry in Brazil

Abstract

The paper deals with development of Brazil tire retreading industry and related import restrictions applied by Brazil. Disputes concerning these restrictions within Mercosur and World Trade Organization (WTO) are analyzed. Focus is on the strategy of defense, its evolution throughout debates and arguments concerning environment chosen by Brazil, which provided a positive outcome for the country.
