The modern system of winery regulation in the EU
Abstract
The study generalises the peculiarities of regulation of wine-making activities in France and the EU. A brief history of the classification of the wines of France until 2012 is presented. Comparative characteristics of the regulation concepts of wine quality in France, the leading wine producers Italy and Spain, other EU countries and countries of the New World are analysed. The advantages and disadvantages of the classification of wines in New World countries is analysed from the point of view of their market promotion. The necessity of the transformation of the system of state regulation of quality control of wine after 2012 is proved in order to increase state support to the sector and overcome the crisis on the French market.
